Lyford Consolidated Independent School District (LCISD) is providing notice of its intent to apply for the Texas ACE 21st CCLC grant, in accordance with Texas Education Agency (TEA) requirements.
Program Overview:
• Provides afterschool and summer learning opportunities
• Supports academic enrichment, youth development, and family engagement
• Prioritizes students attending Title I and high-poverty campuses
A copy of the complete application may be requested after Feb. 17, 2026 for public inspection at the Lyford CISD Administration Office during regular business hours.
This grant opportunity would support our efforts to provide meaningful enrichment opportunities for our students and families beyond the school day. We remain committed to exploring programs and resources that enhance student learning and engagement.

Lyford CISD will resume regularly scheduled classes, bus routes, and district operations tomorrow, Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Friendly reminder that instruction begins at 8:00AM.
We would like to thank our parents and community for their patience, understanding, and continued support as student and staff safety remained our top priority. As cold temperatures persist, please ensure students are dressed warmly, especially those waiting at bus stops.

We’re excited to invite all LCISD students to participate in this year’s District Christmas Card Artwork Contest!
This year’s theme is “Honoring Our Heroes For The Holidays,” celebrating veterans and military who make the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom.
Students are encouraged to create festive, meaningful artwork that reflects this theme. The winning design will be featured on the front cover of the official 2025 Lyford CISD District Christmas Card, and the student artist will receive an LCISD Swag Bag! The completed LCISD District Christmas Card is intended to be sent to surrounding school districts and partnerships.
To ensure consistency and fairness in judging, all submitted artwork must meet the following criteria:
-Theme: Artwork must reflect the 2025 contest theme, “Honoring Our Heroes For The Holidays.”
-Size: Submissions must be created on white letter-size paper or card stock (11 inches x 8.5 inches), in portrait or landscape orientation. Artwork must be one-sided.
-Original Work: All entries must be original artwork created solely by the student.
-Materials: Students may use any traditional art materials, including colored pencils, markers, crayons, or paint. No printed or digital artwork.
-Identification: The back of each artwork must include the student’s name, grade level, campus, and homeroom teacher.
-Condition: Artwork should be neat, clean, and free of folds, tears, or staples.
Turn-In Deadline:
All student completed artwork must be submitted in-person to your campus principal by 4:30 PM on Thursday, December 4th.

However with the cooler temps in the forecast, we are encouraging students in grades 3rd-12th, Veterans, and community to bring a jacket, sunglasses, cap, and water bottle. While the listed items are not required, they are highly encouraged for a comfortable event experience.
